The Paulite community has yet another reason to feel proud as Anand Kutre, an alumnus of the 1990–91 batch, has played a key role in a nationally significant innovation now adopted by Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
Anand Kutre is the co-founder of TRUEAssist Technology Private Limited, the startup behind the assistive swivel seat technology recently introduced by Maruti Suzuki in the WagonR. The initiative marks a major step towards inclusive mobility, especially for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, by enabling easier and safer ingress and egress without altering the original structure of the vehicle.
After years of research, development, and persistence, the TRUEAssist swivel seat has moved from concept to large-scale deployment. Offered as an optional retrofit for the WagonR—one of India’s highest-selling cars—the solution has been piloted across select Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships, with plans to expand based on customer response. The technology has undergone safety and endurance testing at ARAI and comes with a three-year warranty, underscoring its readiness for mainstream adoption.

Roots at St. Paul’s High School, Belagavi
In an earlier interview with AllAboutBelgaum, Anand Kutre traced his journey back to his formative years at St. Paul’s High School, Belagavi, where he completed his schooling before pursuing engineering at GIT. He later worked in Pune and went on to build an illustrious international career in the automotive sector, including stints in Detroit, USA, with global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers such as Daimler Chrysler (Jeep & Truck Division), Faurecia, Autoliv, and Tata Johnson Controls.
Despite professional success in the United States, Anand made a conscious decision to return to India with a clear purpose—to build meaningful, India-centric innovation. That decision eventually led to the creation of multiple patented technologies, including the swivel seat mechanism now adopted by Maruti Suzuki, and other assistive and agri-mechanisation solutions.

For the Paulite fraternity, Anand Kutre’s journey—from the classrooms of St. Paul’s High School to contributing to an innovation embraced by India’s largest car manufacturer—stands as a powerful example of how Paulite values, global exposure, and a commitment to social impact can come together to create lasting change.
The Paulites of Belgaum Worldwide (PBW) proudly congratulate Paulite alumnus Anand Kutre (1990–91 batch) and wish him continued success in building technologies that bring dignity, accessibility, and inclusion to everyday life.
